Darmstadt and London

heyho,

I am in London since this morning. I am here to look for a place to live when I start the MA in January. I found out that it is almost impossible to find a place 2 months in advance. But I have to be here anyway because there is the international witchfest soon. And my boyfriend is coming to join me on Wednesday. I will show him London.

This weekend I was in Darmstadt in Germany. I shot the birthday of Shaya, who is a little one year old girl with a very modern family:

She had 2 mothers who are homosexual, one father who is gay, the two mothers are living in one house with her best friend and her partner (who has 6 children from his former marriage and his children sometimes come to visit). The mum of the best friend is Shayas “adopted” grandmother. It was great to be there, a wonderful experience. Even that the roles are very different than usual, there is so much love and harmony in this family, its awesome!

    Liebe Alice,

herzliche Gruesse aus Hue, Vietnam. Es regenet. Trotzdem schoen!

    Christoph

    Alice,

my wife and I we adore your fotos since we dicovered them on the Internet some months ago. What you have done for Haiti is invaluable. You show many faces of Haiti as we see them in the country but as they are rarely shown on pictures. A part of the reality which should be shown to the world. Congratulations to your “UNICEF-Picture of the year”. I myself rarely dare to take out my camera when I face the Haitian poverty.

I do work in Haiti and in the Dominican Republic in rural areas, managing a binational development project on both sides of the border between the two contries. We would appreciate if we could help you when you come back to Haiti for more pictures and it would be an honour if we could know you personally. Do you have anny personal connection to Darmstadt? We live there, when we are in Germany.

    Klaus and Janeth
